Jewellery Workshops

Would you like to carve your own one of a kind silver ring?

No previous jewellery making experience required.

Handcrafted jewellery is unique, precious and meaningful. Make it extra special by making it yourself. As a professional maker, I can guide you through the process so you can relax, get creative and enjoy the experience.

My workshop is an exciting opportunity to discover the old technique of lost wax carving in order to create beautiful jewellery pieces like rings, wedding bands, or pendants and small objects.

Workshop outline
It's a fun, creative and relaxed workshop where I will give you an insight into how to approach the medium. During the workshop, you will be carving your very own unique ring using jewellers wax with a selection of tools. We will talk about the lost wax casting process, qualities of different forms of wax, wax carving tools and what can be achieved with this technique.

What will you learn
You will learn how to cut, carve and manipulate wax to realise your designs. Once you have carved your unique design you will be shown how to prepare it for casting so it can be reproduced in gold, silver or other metals.

All materials are included in the cost of the workshop from tools to wax. I will also give you full information on where to buy tools & equipment if you love the process and would like to set up your own jewellery making studio at home.

Please note as this is one day course we will be only working in wax. The cast itself will not be done on this course. You will be able to cast your wax rings in the metal of your choice with the recommended caster. I’m happy to guide you through it and advise on costs and the best possible options. (Casting & finishing of a ring in sterling silver is around £20 plus postage depending on the size and weight of your item) We will learn on the course how to estimate the cost of casting for your finished item.

Cyanotype Printing

Cyanotype printing is a photographic printing method that uses the sun to make a distinctive blue printed image.

You will be guided through the process in the workshop by Ania. First you go for a walk to collect flowers, leaves and twigs from the gardens that could create an interesting shape and texture.

Ania's workshop will lead you on a journey through the history of photography and it's relationship with botany. She can help you to think about composition and how combinations create a harmonious print.

Workshops are flexible to coordinate with your stay. Contact her directly to book your workshop. Prices vary on whether a shorter kids workshop or a deep dive for adults.
