OUR SPACES

We offer three memorable places to stay:

The Dome

A dome and timber pavilion create a unique architectural sculpture.

The Heartwood

The Heartwood is the perfect place to escape for a restfull retreat. The architect-designed space will help you slow down and tune in to nature.

The giant dome provides warm and luxurious accommodation for all year use. The panoramic windows are best enjoyed from the sofa with a fire ticking over.

The wooden deck floats in the landscape, under an ancient oak tree.

The wooden pagoda is designed by award winning architects Rural Office. The geometric wooden structure will give you a sense of harmony as you cook in the kitchen, dine on the deck and shower under the trees.

Surrounded by rolling fields with views that sweep over valleys to the hills of Exmoor on the horizon.

Secluded dreamy gardens, designed by Ania, with perennial borders, loosely inspired by Gabriel Orozco’s ‘Thinking in Circles.’

The Cabin

The Praktyka cabin is an experiment in living simply. We designed it in collaboration with the team at Rural Office architects to inspire creativity & reflection.

The Cabin

The cabin is a small space with a big experience.

A simple square room split by a diagonal curtain with bedroom on one side, living room on the other. The curtain is pulled across to create seclusion for the bedroom.

The design takes in a blend of squares, diagonals and diamonds that repeat through the roof structure, layout and interiors.

The minimal design creates calm and a sense of order, with a nod to ‘the shakers.’ The fully equipped kitchenette contains everything you need for a mini break retreat.

The cabin sits in a secret garden, tucked away behind a thick Devon hedge next to a crumbling stone barn.

We invite you to tune into the rituals of daily life, cooking, sleeping, bathing, showering are all connected to the outdoors.

The cabin's purpose is to inspire creativity & reflection and allow all those daily creative activities to become part of the cabin and Praktyka story. From 2024 it is available to rent & we will kick start with an artist residency programme right away too.

The perfect place to slow down and let the busy rhythms of modern life fade away.

2022 is the second year for the Praktyka Meadow. We started with grasslands and are putting our love and energy into helping it establish for increasing biodiversity.

We now have abundance of yellow rattle, red clover, daisy’s, a few different kinds of grasses which is fantastic to see.

Thistles, wild Angelica, Purple Betony, Tufted Vetch, Sorrel, Self Heal, Knapweed, Burdock, Buttercup and on daily walks we try to spot more. Some seeds might take few years to flower like orchids, but also our coastal location and wind might not suit all the plants.

If you are into the meadows you can order seeds locally. We got ours from @gorenfarm Julian from Goren Farm has been extremely helpful in advising how to plant and manage our meadows.

Follow our journey.
